TThis successful autobiographical novel was first published as Turks Fruit in the Netherlands in 1969. It describes the passionate love of a sculptor for a young woman: the story of a tempestous and sensual love affair, that could only be destroyed by death.

Erotic, yet humorous and heartbreaking. Also representing the sexual revolution of the sixties.

The 1972 film version by Paul Verhoeven (starring Rutger Hauer and Monique van de Ven) was awarded as Best Dutch Film of the Century.

Turks Fruit has been translated into Bulgarian, Croatian, English, Finnish, French, Frysian, German, Italian, Japanese, Latvian, Polish, Portugese, Servian, Slovanian, Spanish, Swedish and Turkish.

This book is the first printing of the American Edition. Hardcover, solidly bound seventies copy with dustjacket, looks unread.
